About Us
We are a young medical device company with high ambitions, on a mission to make EEG monitoring a routine function in acute healthcare. As a forerunner of the field, we are committed to continuous research and development of novel products that bring value to the users and patients.
The company is founded on years of research: Our roots lie deep in the academia and everything we do has a solid scientific base.
Despite our modern methods and forward-thinking attitude, we are quite conservative when it comes to the quality of our products and processes. Our quality system is in our DNA and guides everything we do, because highest quality and patient safety are non-negotiable.
Meet the Management Team
One of the founders, a man of many talents and skills that range from hard tech to gymnastics. A medical doctor alienated from clinical work with patients after his deep dive into the startup bubble. A responsible leader, who steers his people from the front. He claims that he is becoming a grumpy old man, but we aren’t seeing any signs yet.
Eero was there when Cerenion was founded, because he was the one who had the the idea to apply AI to EEG. Today, he leads Cerenion’s R&D team and likes to see his people flourish. He claims he doesn’t remember how to write code anymore, but he does. An artist in the skin of a scientist, his interests stretch from hard rock and card games to yoga and origami.
Timo was one of the original co-founders, who came onboard as the businessperson and grew into a financial and administrative leader. A father of four, Timo is the go-to person for anyone who needs a word of encouragement and support. With a keen eye on detail, Timo also knows our processes in and out – since he is the one who built most of them.
Sanna started her career at Cerenion as specialist of quality and regulatory affairs. Quite soon after that, she ended up rewriting Cerenion’s entire quality management system and passing the MDR certification for C-Trend with (green) flags raised. A well-organized country girl that gets things done. She is one of those enabling leaders who always comes up with a constructive solution to the most devious challenges.
Kaisu can cope with scientists and speaks fluent engineer but is neither. The latest addition to the team, came onboard to bring an artistic touch to the otherwise logical and analytical team. Likes to use simple words but has ended up speaking about things like electroencephalography, subarachnoid hemorrhage and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
